No-equipment training
No Equipment Workout Calendar
A no equipment workout calendar for planning bodyweight-only training you can do anywhere: home, hotel room, or outdoors.
Updated August 25, 2026
A no equipment workout calendar assumes exactly one constraint: no gear at all, not even light dumbbells or a resistance band. That constraint is the whole point. It makes the calendar useful in places a normal home workout plan is not, like a hotel room, a small apartment, a park, or anywhere else a bag of equipment is not an option.
Who this calendar is for
- Frequent travelers who want a consistent plan that works in any hotel room.
- People in small apartments with no space to store equipment.
- Beginners who want to build a habit before deciding whether to invest in any gear at all.
- Anyone who wants an outdoor-friendly plan for a park, a yard, or a beach.
What is inside the calendar
The calendar is a monthly grid where every session label refers to bodyweight-only work: for example, “Push” for a push-up-based session, “Legs” for a squat-and-lunge session, or “Core.” A short legend at the top defines each label so no exercise list or equipment substitution is ever implied. It is available as an A4 PDF and a US Letter PDF, both designed to print cleanly in black and white.
Anatomy of the calendar
| Element | What it is for | Example entry |
|---|---|---|
| Legend | Defines bodyweight-only session labels | “Push = push-ups, dips, plank” |
| Day box | One per calendar day, for that day’s session | “Push” |
| Checkbox | Marks the session as completed | Checked once done |
| Space note | Optional note on where the session happened | “Hotel room” |
A blank week, ready to copy by hand
To test the format before printing a full month, recreate one week and define your own bodyweight-only labels:
| Day | Session | Done |
|---|---|---|
| Mon | ||
| Tue | ||
| Wed | ||
| Thu | ||
| Fri | ||
| Sat | ||
| Sun |
How to use it
- Define three or four session types that need zero equipment (push, legs, core, and a rest or walk day is a common starting set).
- Fill in the month using only those labels, so the plan stays realistic no matter where you are.
- Check off each session as it happens, and use the space note if it is useful to track where sessions took place.
- On travel weeks, do not redesign the plan, the whole point is that it already works without a gym or gear.
- At the end of the month, glance back to see whether travel or small spaces caused any real gaps.
A worked example
Someone traveling for work three weeks out of the month might worry a normal gym plan would fall apart on the road. Using a no-equipment calendar instead, the plan does not change between a week at home and a week in a hotel room: push, legs, core, and rest, printed the same way regardless of location. The space note at the bottom of a few days simply reads “hotel,” which is useful context but does not require any change to the plan itself.
How to adapt it
- Traveling often: keep the same three or four labels every month so the plan never needs to be redesigned around a new location.
- Small apartment: use the legend to note which sessions need floor space versus a doorway or a wall, so you know what fits before you start.
- Outdoor sessions: add a fourth label like “Walk” or “Outdoor” for park or beach sessions, since no equipment also means no assumption of an indoor floor.
- Ready to add light equipment later: once the habit holds, the home workout calendar allows for optional equipment like a mat or light dumbbells.
Common mistakes
- Writing in exercises that quietly assume equipment (a bench, a bar) which defeats the purpose of a no-equipment plan.
- Redesigning the plan every time you travel, instead of relying on labels that already work anywhere.
- Skipping rest days because bodyweight sessions feel lower-intensity than they actually are over a full month.
- Not defining the legend clearly, so “Push” ends up meaning something different from one week to the next.
Printing tips
Print at 100% scale so day boxes and the legend stay readable. The layout works fine in black and white, and a folded printed sheet fits easily in a travel bag alongside no other equipment. Keeping a spare printed sheet in your bag means a plan is ready before a trip even starts.

FAQ
Does this calendar include a list of exercises?
No, it is a planning grid with a legend you define yourself. It works with any bodyweight exercise list, including ones a coach or app already gave you.
Is this the same as the home workout calendar?
Not quite. The home workout calendar allows for optional light equipment. This version assumes none at all, so it works in a hotel room or outdoors just as well as at home.
What should I open next?
If you want to add light equipment once the habit holds, see the home workout calendar. For a full bundle of printable formats and trackers, see the Fitness Calendars Starter Pack.
